Pics from the PGE Holiday Bazaar

A few challenges during this fair.

1 - Downtown Portland is a challenging place to have a craft fair when you are a VENDOR. Tables, boxes, fake Christmas tree, chairs, oy vey. I was blessed, though. I got great parking all 3 days.

2 - They provided tables, but only 5'. You'll see my items are slightly crammed onto the table. Tee hee.

3 - Occupy Portland. Ok, they came out in droves on the 17th, the last day of the fair. I think they must have heard about my felt hair clips. Tee hee.  I'm sure scenes like this one kept little old ladies away, and office workers in their cubbies...

Oh, i'm sorry. I forgot to mention this was literally happening outside of our sweet little bazaar windows.

Anyway, I made a few sales, as well as a GREAT connection.

My bright and happy table!

I use a tray method for defining my "departments"

Paper Christmas Ornaments. You can purchase these HERE!

Next fair - Laurelhurst Winter Bazaar on Dec 4th from 9-4. Come and show the love!

PGE Craft Bazaar

Next week, November 16th and 17th at the World Trade Center here in downtown Portland!

This will be my 2nd craft fair of the Fall/Winter season, and I am excited! There will be pics to come, of course. Last time, I was so overwhelmed, I forgot to take pictures. Also a the last fair, I broke even. I made back my booth fee, and a little extra. That was in September. This month, i'd love to do better!

Anyway, tons of new items in shop. I've been a crafty little bee the past couple of weeks, preparing for this month's fair, next months, Christmas gifts, and of course, Etsy!

Happy Mid-week!

A Little Space.

Well, i'm about a week away from moving into a creative live/work space here in Portland. Excited and nervous, yes, but i'm more anxious than anything else. I cannot wait to have more space for a Little Card to grow!

Ironically........this will actually be the smallest square footage I have ever lived in, AND the first time that i've inhabited a work/live space. This gives a whole new meaning to a Little Card....ha.

I was at Ikea with a friend last night, and a quote on the wall, that I am about to screw up, said something like :

"SMART STORAGE CAN ACTUALLY DOUBLE YOUR SPACE"

Something along the lines of that. Anyway, that is going to have to be my motto when I get in there. I love challenging spaces though, I always have. They have more character, and it seems Portland has tons of offbeat style apartments, duplexes, etc.

Anyway, I will be posting many pics soon. Stay tuned...

Cityscape.

I'm a city girl, bottom line. I love the beauty and majesty of the countryside,  I periodically NEED to be near the ocean, and I love the mystery of the woods. The beauty of Oregon is we have all of that.

No, seriously.

An hours drive can take you to any one of those locations.  And I love them all.

But i'm a city girl.

Gimme cozy bars and coffee shops. City shopping. Oversized shades for people-watching..."No she didn't wear that".

I've accepted our 8-9 months a year "rainspell". I didn't realize that until I discovered I could not stop drawing or painting rain, clouds, coffee, overcoats, books, umbrellas.  Let the. City obsessing begin again....

Cityscapes coming soon. Yay!

Last Thursday on Alberta

Wow! What a ride.

Free street fairs in the dead of summer are exciting and exhausting!

I had great help from my dear friend and my nephew, introduced many to A Little Card, learned a lot and even sold a little!

New in the shop - vintage paper cards!

I have this tattered, OLD english/spanish dictionary that I am in love with. I've been ripping out each page, and delicately upcycling them has confetti, garland, etc.

I'm already to the N section.

Anyway, I adore these pages. I've used them to make tiny notecards, stamped with birds.

I love vintage, I love cards, and of course I love birds!

Happy Friday!

A Little Feature

A Little Card was fortunate to be involved in 2 giveaways/features this holiday weekend. I am still catching up from housesitting, the 4th, Etsy orders (ya-to the hooo!) and a ton of homework (giving homework during the holiday? What gives?), but let me say, I am blessed. These blogs rock and I am so excited for these giveaways.

Acid trip called Inspiration

When I am in a creative rut, I grab my camera and start clicking.

Art is everywhere. Especially for me, since I am a fan o' color.

Just organizing my felt piles gave me this!
Which then, inspires me to do this...

Portland's Grand Floral Parade earlier this month was like a psychedelic family outing. No, seriously. I don't drop acid or recommend that anyone else take it, but I can only imagine if someone at the parade was when THIS walked by....

Yes, it looks like he is staring at me

Or this.....

Portlanders camp out in the heart of downtown, just to get a good curb spot. Daring. My Mother and her friend, God bless them, got up at 4am just to "set up and drink our coffee and chillax".

My Mom still says chillax.

It really is a wonderful parade, though. It's a beautiful way to usher in Summer.

Anyway, while we're at it, let's just bask in the color, shall we?

Whew. What a trip.

Hoorah for summer!

Meanwhile, inspired by color, i'm cranking out color in the card shop....

Happy Thursday!

New in the shop - cards!

Anyone who knows me has probably received a card from me at some time in their lives. I love cards! I believe they are the gift before the gift. Not to mention you capture a tiny piece of someone in their handwriting. Kids scribbles become words, words become phrases, then before you know it they are writing you piece of their story in your card.

I wanted to do a line of simple, stamped cards. So far, I am loving it, and I hope you will too!

Many more cards in the shop, check them out!
